Workshop 2 - Solo Flatpicking Workshop - Summer 2026

We're excited to announce that Rural Guitar is hosting its second ever workshop, called: ‘the lower you go, the more you know.’ Join Cameron Knowler for a 4-session workshop on his unique approach to setting and arranging fiddle melodies for solo, flatpicked guitar. The course will cover three tunes (sent ahead of time), starting with the earliest sketches of the melody and chords, moving into the various ways in which they can be played across registers, culminating into the final details of arrangement: harmonic coloring, phrasing, ornamentation, texturizing, and feel.

These topics will be covered in the first three sessions, while the fourth is open to questions and answers relating to attendee’s own arrangements.

The sessions will be held on three consecutive Fridays on Zoom, followed by a Q&A session on Saturday (6:00-7:30 PM CT): June 26, July 3, July 10, July 11 (Q&A).
